Assessment of existing HVAC performance within meeting rooms
As part of the Hobsons Bay Civic Centre redevelopment, new meeting and collaboration spaces were created to support a more flexible and functional workplace environment. Premiair was engaged to deliver an HVAC solution that enhanced user experience while integrating seamlessly with the building’s existing infrastructure.
As part of a redevelopment project at the Hobsons Bay Civic Centre, multiple partitioned meeting rooms were created to provide staff with additional private meeting spaces.
Initially, these rooms were connected to the existing base-building air conditioning system. However, because the meeting rooms formed part of a larger centralised HVAC system, occupants experienced limited control over room temperatures and airflow, resulting in inconsistent comfort levels and difficulty accommodating varying room occupancy.
Premiair developed a tailored HVAC solution by providing each meeting room with its own dedicated ducted split system. This approach allowed individual temperature control within each space, significantly improving occupant comfort and system flexibility.
Ducted systems were specifically selected to maintain the clean architectural appearance of the newly constructed meeting rooms by concealing indoor equipment within ceiling spaces. To ensure seamless facility management, all new systems were integrated into the existing Building Management System (BMS), allowing centralised monitoring and control.
